Act The Part

We run regular performing arts groups for disabled people to participate in theatre. Projects help to improve confidence, reduce isolation and gain arts and social skills 

DDM

A performing arts group for young people to begin to experience Drama, Dance and Music.

Young people attend for between 18 – 24 months and then they are encouraged to move on to integrated or mainstream arts activities.

Young disabled people from 11 – 18

The Blue Sky Actors is an inclusive ensemble of adult disabled and non-disabled actors.

Our main missions are to play, have fun, build confidence and produce three productions a year.

‘Broken Silence’ is an adult drama group of approximately 20 disabled participants with sensory and mobility impairments, mental health issues and learning difficulties.

Participants devise ideas using drama, movement and music with the aim of developing these ideas into a performance piece.

Working with local theatre-makers, the Youth Theatre ensemble expand their drama skills by taking part in theatre exercises, drama games and a performance in a professional studio theatre.

Membership

Young people aged 9-13 years old.

The group learns music and theatre skills, write and perform their own shows, led by experienced professional artist/facilitators.

As well as performing, the group can go on theatre trips and join in other social events.
